Hi, and welcome to my blog!
I have been writing stories since I was old enough to hold a crayon.
After more than 30 years in education — coaching teachers and professors in writing, best teaching practices, and engaging students using technology — I have moved on to the next phase of my life.
This phase continues to reshape itself, as I work to balance my time.
- I want to spend time with my family (my husband and our two sons).
- I want to focus more on my hobbies (genealogy, redecorating, organic gardening, clean eating, and raising Monarch butterflies).
- And of course, I want to nurture my love of writing.
My friends and family have exclaimed many times, “You should write a book! You have so many interesting stories to tell about your life!”
This blog is my beginning. One small story at a time, I can write about things that have happened to me and the people I love most.
I don’t know if it will ever become a book, but I do know that there are episodes that will become lost forever if they are not written and curated.
To protect the privacy of those in my life, I may change character names and settings. Other details will likely be altered, but that’s what an author of historical fiction does. It’s also known as poetic license.
After all, the name of this blog is … “Based On A True Story”
